What to Expect
Our community Play Rangers take play out to where children live. Travelling in our play van - packed with active and creative equipment - we deliver free, open access outdoor play sessions in parks, housing estates and rural villages across Powys.
We play outdoors all year round, whatever the weather. A typical session might include jumpers-for-goalposts football, tag, den building, dressing up, giant bubbles, face painting, arts and crafts and plenty of imaginative play. Who families can join in and we warmly welcome children with additional needs, making sure there is something for all ages and abilities.
Most sessions take place during school holidays, bringing safe, inclusive play directly into communities.
During the summer of 2025, funding from Nourish, through Community Foundation Wales, enabled us to deliver 58 play sessions at over 20 locations across Powys. We also received support from Powys County Council to run additional themed sessions in Llandrindod Wells, Presteigne and Rhayadar. If you'd like to consider partnering with Play Radnor to help make more sessions like this possible in the future, visit our 'Support Us' page to learn more.
